Oak Steamer Trunks

I have just completed a 14 week commission for three oak steamer trunks that are a wee bit more than they appear from the outside. Initially the clients (husband and wife) interests were sparked from an earlier piece of mine with secret compartments hidden inside an oak coffer. The brief grew from there to a set of three steamer trunks that would serve as side tables and a plinth for a Zhu Ming bronze sculpture in their London flat as well as after dinner entertainment for their friends and family.  The video below is a slideshow of the making of the trunks.
